Email Christmas Cards from Business Colleagues

I hate them. Don't bother sending them.

Business "holiday cards" are silly enough, but I'm used to it.

But emailed cards? Cold. Counter-productive. Leave me off the list.

Send me booze, like I do to over 100 people. Little airline bottles, if you haven't got the bread.

Bah....humbug.

The Baghdad Emperor Has Dandy Clothes

Regarding the US blitzkreig into Baghdad, March-April 2003:

Never mind that it ranks in the Top 10 (if not Top One) textbook routs by an army. Tsk tsk for you thinking it was anything but dumb luck. Stupid lucky hubris.

The leftist media - The New York Times - continues its unending campaign to establish that the US - somehow - messed up. And anyone who might point out the lopsided US victory, in the face of naysayer "quagmire" predictions, "just doesn't get it. " US overconfidence is already "well catalogued," so don't you dare challenge the dogma:
"American overconfidence on the road to Baghdad has been well catalogued, but it is worth remembering that the United States hardly monopolizes military hubris."
Might I ask, exactly where is this overconfidence "catalogued?" And since when does planning and executing a battle, stunningly, constitute military hubris?

Those are dandy clothes, Mr. Emperor. Just like Petain. While we on the subject of the French military, why not Google that phrase "French Military Victories" ?

some cousins moved in

I moved some posts to here, from a sister site. That other site might be getting a lot of hits if and when the CBS Report comes out, and I don't want my crazed rants to detract from the legal analysis there....

Gallup Uncovers the Lost Tribe of Cretins

Amazing when an audience upstages the President and a US Senator.
Log your comments - what audience members stood out?

-Was it the 400 pound Jabba slumped in the front row because he wasn't allowed to snack for 90 minutes?

-Perhaps the front row transvestite?

-How about the freak bag lady in the back row who picked her teeth throughout Bush's closing? (The camera did not, however, capture her in any Spaulding Smails moments. )

Or.....

Team America: F**k Yeah

[UPDATE: YOU MUST SEE THIS; there are no words for how perfect it is. Kudos to INDCJOURNAL.]

You heard it here first: The film Team America: World Police is going to upstage the election.
I just came from the premiere at Grumman's Chinese. Stunning.
It's funny. A Hollywood crowd guffawed throughout.
But more importantly, the film defangs the Anti-War Hollywood Left at an important time; not only will that faction be powerless to sway any more undecided voters in a certain 18-25 age band, but Kerry may actually lose votes, via guilt by association.
Stop reading now, unless you don't mind being told a few details from the film.
Sean Penn, who a few days ago went into a Falcon/Snowman
hissy fit condemning the South Park guys for a Rolling Stone interview, is killed by the puppet American commandos in the film, for joining the terrorist squad organized by North Korean short-man Kim Jong-Il.
A who's-who of antiwar actors are portratyed in the film - as puppets, against their will - each being part of an egotistical new world council, the Film Actors Guild. FAG. Again and again, the film identifies the members as being part of this group. It's FAG against Team America.
Tim Robbins gets killed, as a terrorist sympathizer. So does Susan Sarandon. And Liv Tyler. And Janeane Garafalo. Helen Hunt is sawn in half. Martin Sheen buys the farm. George Clooney gets a bullet. The Matt Damon puppet is a terror 'tard, and is terminated with prejudice.
Alec Baldwin is shot by Kim Jong-Il, for being an ineffective terror supporter. Hans Blix is also killed by Kim. Eaten alive by sharks.
Michael Moore is portrayed as a fat socialist double-fisting some hot dogs, with ketchup and mustard running down his face. Of course, he dies. Suicide bomber.
There is projectile vomiting, puppet sex and ample islamo-fascist death and taunting.
All of this, to the stated theme that Americans may be dicks, but liberals are pussies, and terrorists are assholes. It goes from there...an entire scato-sexual weltpolitic is built from that playground humor.
And...Spotteswoode. WTFIT?
Why does it upstage the election? Because the Hollywood Left are portrayed as morons. In a pop culture language that will resonate with young teens through adults.
The fireworks should begin in a few days, when at least one actor/actress portrayed as a FAG (or, a felllow traveler therewith) will simply not be able to contain himself. He will take the bait and pick a fight with the South Park creators, and the movie. Very publicly. Good for the Box Office...hmmmm, interesting Fahrenheit tactic.....
And that silly complaining actor will find himself being laughed at, not laughed with. Why? Because he's arguing against....puppets.
His political position? Laughed at; guilt by association.
A stunning evening. The Center/CenterRight has its own untouchable Hollywood oracle. How strange is that?[update: clueless wonder-reviewer at WaPo - yes, the political capital of the nation - cannot see through his left goggles:

Stunned by all the fun, I am almost moved to salute Parker and Stone for their nuanced and careful takedown of American jingoism and the seemingly disastrous foreign policy that Team America stands for.
Only that isn't quite how it played to an audience on Tuesday night, at one of those free-ticket radio station giveaway previews [code: an audience of morons, who don't have a Masters in French literarture, like me] in a packed cineplex in Northwest Washington. The biggest laughs came when "Team America" assaulted any and all concepts of ethnicity, or when the joke was on gays, Michael Moore or a vast left-wing idiocy. The movie feels like an elaborate inside joke [known only to me] on the very Americans laughing hardest at its easiest gags, oblivious to the sly, allegorical digs at a USA brand of bravado. [Yes, those laughing folks just don't understand that they are being mocked...] What I took as a lampoon of Bushworld seemed to be received, in the seats around me, as a triumph of Bushworld. Pollsters and campaign workers, take note: "Team America" will only further confound your election-year data.

Debate Tit-for-Tat: Lesbos et La Vache

I am still a bit struck over Kerry's outting of Cheney's daughter.

Lynne Cheney is correct to stick it to Kerry for that cheap shot.

What if Bush had used similar tactics? How would the MSM respond? Let's surmise. (Yes, this is a petty response to a serious issue, but...):

SCHIEFFER: Both of you are opposed to gay marriage. But to understand how you have come to that conclusion, I want to ask you a more basic question. Do you believe homosexuality is a choice?

KERRY: We're all God's children, Bob. And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as. I think if you talk to anybody, it's not choice. I've met people who struggled with this for years, people who were in a marriage because they were living a sort of convention, and they struggled with it.

***

SCHIEFFER: Both of you are married. But to understand how you have come to
that conclusion, I want to ask you a more basic question. Do you believe that
procreation is the reason for marriage?

BUSH: We're all God's children, Bob. And I think if you were to talk to
John Kerry’s daughters, who are homely, they’d tell you that they’re happy to
have been brought into this world, even though they hit every branch on the way
down, when they fell out of the ugly tree. I'm comparatively blessed with my two
beautiful, spunky daughters.

I think if you talk to anybody, procreation is not always the man’s choice. Look at Kerry's second wife, Ter-eeza, who is not what we call a "hottie" down in Texas, who has selfishly refused to provide him with a child. However, she has a lot of money, and thus my opponent married her anyway, so that he can jet-set around the world, and party with supermodels when the cow isn’t around. I've met people who struggled with this for years, people who were in a marriage because they were living a sort of convention, and they struggled with it.

Math Facts vs. Mouth Foam

I sometimes worry that I just don’t “get it.”

Why have so many critics gone so far past the boiling point on hating this Bush guy? I didn’t vote for him, but he doesn’t send me off the deep end. And I like his plan to kill as many islamo-fascists as possible.

Today comes a subtle reminder, via Paul Krugman of the NYTimes, that NO, it’s not a matter of my “not getting it.” That’s a phrase equivalent to someone saying, “Hey, I’m your family member, please don’t testify at my felony trial, because, y’know…the DA just doesn't get it.”

No, I get it, alright.

When the far left can’t, or won’t, show their math, you know that there is no secret truth that eludes you.

Anti-Bush mouth-foamer Paul Krugman distinguishes herself today, in claiming that the polls show that Kerry is ahead, and thus any Bush victory will be the result of nefarious vote tampering.

The Krugman spittle:

"If the election were held today and the votes were counted fairly, Senator John Kerry would probably win. But the votes won't be counted fairly, and the disenfranchisement of minority voters may determine the outcome."

The Actual Math:

Bush + 2
Bush + 1
Bush + 6
Bush + 1
Bush + 7
Bush + 5
Bush + 2
Bush + 8
Bush + 1
Bush + 6
TIE
TIE
Kerry + 3

Via 13 polls, the real math shows Bush up by an average 2.8% over Kerry (albeit, a close race, at or within the sampling error.) Kerry leads in only one of 13 polls.

Bush up 2.8%, vs. the Krugman math: “If the election were held today and the votes were counted fairly, Senator John Kerry would probably win.”

Look, I know that mouth foam is the money shot, and Krugman's fans like a good money shot, and Krugman does good mouth foam. But her polling math is as inaccurate as her vote-tampering calculus.

It's just mouth foam. I get it.

Republicans Stealing the Election !!...Preventing Black Vote

60,000 Absentee Ballots in Broward County, Florida.....Missing.

Clearly, a George Bush/Jeb Bush/Republican exercise in stealing the election in Florida...again....
The Broward County Supervisor of Elections is actively preventing urban Kerry voters from.....
.....wait a minute, the Broward County Supervisor of Elections is Brenda Snipes, a Democrat. And she is an African American.

But...but.....I read the MSM headlines about urban voter disenfranchisement and......
I am so confused.

Maybe that's the intention.....

Why Is the Liberal Main Stream Media So Bumbling This Year?

Why Is the Liberal Main Stream Media So Bumbling This Year?

Easy.

For 40 years, they had no rebuttal. They only had to be barely competent at their game, and they won their bracket with a "bye." Now, without the institutional rigor needed to engage in actual debate and argument, the MSM has been blindsided this election year by a four-pronged foe: The Internet; AM Radio; Fox News; and, frankly, agenda-setter Drudge.

The MSM used to get to set the lunch and water cooler agenda, and filter all the facts. Now, simply put, at least one person at lunch or at the cooler has the other side. And, the medium that delivers that message is more comprehensive than TV.

The Left MSM has never had to engage in actual, non-gamed competitions. So they are rusty. And when they resort to the tricks that have worked so well for 40 years, they do not take into consideration that there will be a resounding rebuttal. And their inability to foresee those rebuttals, or to deal with them at an appropriate level, is what makes the liberal MSM seem so damned bumbling this cycle.

Single Issue Voting

For about a week following the Dem Convention, I was gonna vote Kerry. Annoyed at these pesky Swift Boat guys, I read the book in order to rebut them. Reading the book caused me to stumble on some things. Result: however flawed, I am voting Bush.

"Why?," you scream at BummerDietz.

Because I am a single issue voter. Kill islamo-fascists.

I know Bush will continue to kill fascists. Kerry has put on a good show. But rather than debate, here is a Kerry transcript - one week before the election.
If Kerry doesn't have his warhawk soundbites memorized this late in the game, forget it...he won't be killing any fascists; he will pull out at the worst possible time - in the darkness just before dawn:

(Yes, I Fisked it.)

John Kerry - Tom Brokaw:

Brokaw: This week you've been very critical of the president because of the missing explosives in Iraq. The fact is, senator, we still don't know what happened to those explosives. How many for sure that were there. Who might have gotten away with them? Is it unfair to the president, just as you believe he's been unfair to you, to blame him for that?

Kerry: No. It's not unfair. Because what we do know, from the commanders on the ground, is that they went there, as they marched to Baghdad. We even read stories today that they broke locks off of the doors, took photographs of materials in there. There were materials. And they left
Brokaw: The flip side of that is that if you had been president, Saddam Hussein would still be in power. Because you...
Kerry: Not necessarily at all. .

It is one week before the election. One of the three most powerful network anchors asks you point blank about the war and Saddam being in power, and you answer, "Not necessarily [insert word, "true" - ?] at all.." That's Kerry, the war hawk?

Brokaw: But you have said you wouldn't go to war against him...
Kerry: That's not true. Because under the inspection process, Saddam Hussein was required to destroy those kinds of materials and weapons.
Brokaw: But he wasn't destroying them...
Kerry: But that's what you have inspectors for.

We have inspectors - for what? To destroy weapons? To force Saddam to destroy them? To issue a report to the UN that an 18th resolution is needed?

Kerry: And that's why I voted for the threat of force. Because he only does things when you have a legitimate threat of force. It's absolutely impossible and irresponsible to suggest that if I were president, he wouldn't necessarily be gone. He might be gone.
I will give $100,000 to anyone who can lay out a logical syllogism of Kerry's answers.* Because you cannot. He is not intellectual; he is just confused.
Kerry: Because if he hadn't complied, we might have had to go to war. And we might have gone to war. ut if we did, I'll tell you this, Tom. We'd have gone to war with allies in a way that the American people weren't carrying the burden. And the entire world would have understood why we were doing it.
One week to go, and this guy has no clue.
___
*- To wit: In response to the proposition that Kerry would not have removed Saddam, Kerry insists that he might have, and might not have, removed Saddam. He then states that it is impossible and irresponsible to suggest that he would not have removed Saddam....even though Kerry, 4 seconds earlier, himself claimed that that he might not have removed Saddam.

bin Laden Annoints a Spokesmodel

bin Laden released a tape just prior the US election. He annointed several western journalists as having a special understanding of al qaeda's cause. He included a special plea for western TV to broadcast reports by socialist-fascist apologist Robert Fisk. Indeed, Fisk won a special al qaeda merit badge:
"This is the message that we have tried to convey to you... Observe it, if you will...in the deeds of Nairobi and Tanzania and Aden, and observe it in ... interviews with Robert Fisk.... I consider him [Fisk] to be unbiased. Would ...the TV stations ... conduct an interview with him [Robert Fisk] so that he might convey to the American people what he has understood from us concerning the causes of our fight against you? ... As for [the fight's ] results, they are very positive, with Allah's grace."

And the far left media goes merrily on its way, free of any sense of their useful idiocy.

A Taste of Bias

A liberal friend and co-worker was very distraught that his early expectation of a Kerry victory was dashed later that evening.
With the election over, I pointed out to him an example of what center and center-right thinkers have lived with all their lives, 24/7, via the media. Mass media sets the agenda, and people get their data and form their opinions and move on to the next hour of their life. But, my friend disputes that, and that there is any effect of the liberal MSM.
So...I pulled out his email of mid-afternoon election day, and showed it to him. "Let's talk about 'reliable sources.' Anyone right-of-center gets to deal with their own version of your incorrect email, day after day after day."
For a moment, I think he actually understood what I was saying......

Kerry Won the 2004 Election

I wish that you right wingers would just admit that Kerry won the election.

Just because Kerry's supporters voted for Bush, doesn't mean Kerry didn't win, in reality.

And that 9/11 thing, can we just, like, Move On. Like, get over it. Like, Whatever.
